Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I book direct?
Most OTAs (online travel agencies) like VRBO, Homeaway, Airbnb or Expedia have a service fee they charge guests. This is a service charge that averages 12-20% of the total price of the reservation. Booking direct means you don't have to pay that service fee. Additionally, direct booking sites have their own promotions and discounts because they are saving the service fees they also have to pay to OTAs for each booking. These can average 10-15%.
What is your availability and pricing?
PLEASE NOTE: At this time, PYC is only allowing reservations for essential workforce and displaced individuals of 30 days or more. You can view our availability on our calendar or through the calendar booking process. It will only allow you to inquire for our open available dates and the current prices will be reflected with any additional fees. Florida State and Broward County charge a combined tourist tax of 12%.
There is also a cleaning fee that we pay directly to the cleaning company.

What are your booking requirements?
You must book as an essential workforce or displaced individual for at least 30 days. You must be at least 18 years old. We require a current, verified government or state ID for insurance purposes and to ensure the safety of our community. We don’t allow third-party bookings for this reason because we must be in direct contact with the guests should emergencies arise.
All guests at property must follow all CDC guidelines as well as State and local county guidelines at all times: https://www.cdc.gov/ and www.hollywoodfl.org

What are your cleaning standards and procedures?
The cleaning company we work with have always maintained very high cleaning standards, as you can see from our reviews over the past 2 years. You might be surprised to learn that even many 4 and 5-star hotels around the world don't use mattress encasements, box spring encasements and pillow protectors -- which you'll find in all our properties at all times and is 100% waterproof and hypoallergenic. This is the most sanitary and hygienic Vacation Rental practice to protect the integrity of the bedding and linens. It's something you won't find us mention anywhere else, but have always done from even before we opened on our first day.
For white linens and towels we work with a professional laundry and dry clean company that uses hot water and bleach mixed with some baking soda. After 20 years in service, they use the products they have found to produce the best cleaning results while still being gentle enough for most with skin sensitivities. They service large hotels in the area and use the same best-practice cleaning procedures with all their clients.
Beginning March, we have also begun sanitizing all fixtures, doorknobs, handles, light switches, remotes, etc with Lysol. Our cleaning crew uses surgical gloves at all times and disinfecting all surfaces wherever possible.
Our goal is not only to meet all CDC recommendations and guidelines but to exceed them.
Lastly, between every single turn over between guests, we have a unit inspector go through the property to make sure nothing has been missed with cleaning, stocking and supplies, staging and damages. An ozone generator is run after each turn over for approximately 180 minutes which kills 99.8% of all bacteria in the air, and is also considered effective against viruses. The property is then ventilated the next day so we leave 3 days between each turnover.
What do guests like about PYC the most?
Over the past 2 years, you can see that our short term guests consistently compliment us on our level of cleanliness, consistency and level of professionalism. They will note our "thoughtful touches" and that we anticipate and meet every need. From our convenient location to downtown Hollywood, to our professional guidebook, to our swift responsiveness, we deliver it all at a great value for all our guests.
What is it most people don't like about PYC too much?
The things people most often don't like about us are things we can't control, which boils down to 3 categories:
- Our proximity to the new Brightline/Virgin Train tracks. If you stand outside while it passes by or it blows it's horn during an emergency, you'll definitely hear it - but since we installed high impact windows and attic insulation, our guests find it very peaceful and quiet while inside the apartment. Some of our guests who grew up in an urban center even keep the windows open, because they miss the city sounds!
- We are located in a vibrant and diverse urban area that is downtown Hollywood. We recommend that our guests take normal precautions that you would take in any metro city. There are some streets that are well lit at night, like our street and some that are not. There are some streets that are safer than others, just like any city. If you enjoy walkable and diverse cities, then this will be nothing unusual to you and you'll feel right at home. No matter what your preferences, our guests and families always feel completely safe at our property.
- Lastly, we're not really on the beach, nor are we really walkable to the beach. We're only 2.5 miles away but there's no direct walking route since the Hollywood Boardwalk is on a peninsula and the direct path is only accessible by car. So walking is a 6 mile route. Since we're not a beach property, we don't charge beach prices. We are located on the outer edges of the beach proximity so we're close enough to visit by car, or the Hollwyood Sun Shuttle. But if you don't need to walk right onto the sand from your room, and you enjoy saving money at a convenient location, then you should consider The Palms at Young Circle!
What is your address? Is there free parking?
Our address is not disclosed for security purposes. We approximate our location and if you are planning your trip around a certain address we are happy to map it for you and tell you the distance and driving time according to google maps.
Each unit has its own assigned parking space in the front driveway. All others must use street side parking which is usually not hard to find.
What is the best airport transportation to get there? How do I get to the Hollywood Beach?
The best way to get to The Palms at Young Circle is by Uber or taxi. Uber usually charges about $10 for every 10 minutes. FLL airport is about 15 minutes away and MIA airport is about 30 minutes away.
You can get to the beach for free with the Hollywood Sun Shuttle. It will pick you up directly in front of our property and take you there!

Do you have some local restaurants?
YES! The Palms at Young Circle is conveniently located only 4 blocks walk to the downtown Hollywood Boulevard. This is the main strip with lots of restaurants, live music, bars, lounges and shopping.
We provide our guests with a private guidebook with all our best recommendations.
If you’re traveling to South Florida, you should save our public guidebook: https://hostful.ly/gqwzxfz
Do you have high-speed WiFi?
We offer Comcast High-Speed WiFi. High-speed is 75mbps on the 5GHz network and 25mbps on the 2.4GHz network.
Can I get mail delivery and packages?
Many guests like to receive mail at our apartments, like from Amazon. You can definitely receive packages from Amazon, but it has to be during your stay since there's no one around to receive them for you and store them before or after your reservation. The U.S. Post Office has a key to the gate and generally delivers to your door without signature (unless there are special handling instructions on your order). Worst-case scenario, you can pick up your package at the local Post Office which is nearby and in walking distance.
Amazon prime usually delivers in 2 days. If you have something that might take longer than your 5-day reservation, then you may want to order it a few days before you arrive so that the delivery window falls between the dates of your stay.
Is there a laundry facility?
There is a coin operated washer and double dryer located in the shared laundry room. For our larger unit with patio, there’s a shed with a private washer and dryer. Please do not leave any towels outside to dry or any personal belongings outside.
What TV services do you provide?
Our flat-screen HD TVs have clear antenna service with live HD channels and ready to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Sling, etc. Please note: you must already have subscriptions to these paid-for services in order to stream videos from them.
Are there any safety concerns I should know about?
You should take the normal precautions you would take in any metropolitan city. Our properties have an exterior video camera system for the security of the property and safety of our community.
All our apartments have high impact CGI windows that automatically lock once closed. These windows can withstand category 5 hurricanes. They are made to crack but not break. They also provide energy efficiency and maximum noise privacy.
While we are not located in a flood zone, Hollywood may still lose electric power during a hurricane.
Do you have beach towels & kitchen amenities?
Our vacation rentals come with beach towels and a fully stocked kitchen.
What is your cancellation policy?
Moderate policy, no refunds under 30 days notice of check-in. If cancellation is made within 30 days of check-in date, the base rental amount will not be refunded, but the reservation dates may be traded for an equal period of time within 6-12 months of the original reservation.
Our website now offers all guests the option to purchase CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) travel insurance. Even for worst-case scenarios where there is no reason covered, there is still 60% coverage of your costs. Please select this option during your booking process if you are not certain of your travel plans.

What do I do with trash?
The cleaning company will take care of it. If you need to throw away any garbage bags or larger items during your stay, the dumpster is located on the northeast side of the building, through the courtyard. Please make sure to collapse and flatten all boxes. All items must fit fully inside the dumpster with the lid down.
Why do you have quiet hours and what are they?
Our quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. The Palms at Young Circle is a complex of 10 units connected to a courtyard so quiet hours are to ensure the peace and quiet of your stay and of the entire community.
Why do we feature vintage postcards from Hollywood Florida?
Throughout all our vacation rentals, vintage postcards from the 1930s through the 1960's are featured.
Our tagline, "Postcards from Hollywood, Florida" is about the story of Hollywood. And each framed postcard we display tells its own story from real people that visited once upon a time.
But it's also a metaphor for the experiences of our residents and guests in The Palms at Young Circle. Because each of our residents and guests have their own story, too. At The Palms at Young Circle, our goal is to help create wonderful stories, memories and experiences during your stay with us.
From our in-depth guidebooks to all the details of art, story and history we pour into each property, we take many great efforts in the hopes that you'll fall in love with Hollywood, too.
I’m considering moving to South Florida. Do you have any long-term rentals?

Who are Danielle & Marco?
Danielle has a Masters in Arts Administration and Bachelors in Literature from her undergrad at Washington University. She’s also an academic coach for students who need help with executive function. Marco has a Bachelors of Science in Finance at New York University and has studied business and real estate since he was 10 years old. They both met in NYC in 2008, moved to South Florida in 2014 and got married in 2015. They love the endless summers and look forward to sharing some sunshine in Hollywood with you!
The Palms at Young Circle is a family-owned and family-managed vacation rental boutique. After traveling the world together for the past 10 years, they’ve noticed that they’ve had to pay higher and higher prices to get a good stay.
While they don't mind spending luxury rates for a luxury stay, they don't believe you should have to pay luxury rates just to get a good stay.
They like to think their properties have everything they'd expect without having to pay high rates just to get it. A good location, at a good value and a good experience. Because that's what they expect when they travel!
